🛡 Insurance is required by the owner for this trial. Alexa Hackathorn (owner) requires the lessee to carry major medical insurance during the trial period, with the owner listed as additional insured. You must provide proof of coverage before the horse ships.

1. Parties
Owner: Alexa Hackathorn, represented by Taylor Bowman, Twisted Tree Farm, Scottsdale, AZ.
Trial Party (Buyer): Sarah Thompson, Scottsdale, AZ.
2. Horse
Clase Azul, USEF #5756989, Zangersheide gelding, dark grey, foaled June 13, 2016. Described condition at time of delivery is as-is and subject to the buyer's own inspection at delivery.
3. Trial Period
The trial period begins on the date of delivery to the Trial Party's facility and ends no later than [14 days from delivery]. The horse must be returned to Twisted Tree Farm or a mutually agreed location by the end date.
4. Transport
All hauling costs — to the Trial Party's facility and return — are the sole responsibility of the Trial Party (Buyer), regardless of the outcome of the trial. The Owner assumes no hauling liability.
5. Insurance
Insurance is required by the Owner. The Trial Party must maintain major medical and mortality insurance on Clase Azul for the full trial period. Coverage must be no less than the asking price of $85,000. The Owner (Alexa Hackathorn) must be listed as additional insured. Proof of coverage must be provided to the Owner before the horse is released for transport.
6. Care and Responsibility
During the trial period, the Trial Party is responsible for all routine care including feed, farrier, and routine veterinary needs. The Trial Party assumes full liability for any injury or illness occurring during the trial period that is not a pre-existing condition.
7. Use During Trial
Clase Azul may be ridden only by the Trial Party or their designated trainer. No USEF competition during the trial period without prior written consent from the Owner.
8. Return Condition
The horse must be returned in the same condition as delivered, normal wear excepted. Any injury or lameness occurring during the trial period must be disclosed and documented before return.
9. Purchase Option
This trial agreement does not constitute an offer to purchase. If the Trial Party wishes to proceed with a purchase offer after the trial, they may do so through Haltered's offer flow. The Owner retains the right to sell to another party during the trial period, provided the Trial Party is given 48 hours' notice.
10. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. All payments related to a subsequent purchase, if any, must be processed through Haltered.
