Two fields above remain editable: Microchip number (Seller enters before transfer) and Transfer date (mutually agreed). All other transaction data is locked from the accepted offer record. Haltered does not accept credit cards for horse sales or leases — cards remain available only for PPE, insurance, and hauling.
Seller (Alexa Hackathorn, by and through her parent and legal guardian Brian Hackathorn) represents that Alexa is the lawful owner of the horse described above, that the horse is free and clear of all liens, encumbrances, and claims of third parties, and that Brian Hackathorn has full legal authority to sell and transfer ownership on Alexa’s behalf as her natural guardian.
The horse is sold “as-is, where-is” in its present condition. Seller makes no warranties, express or implied, as to the horse’s fitness for any particular purpose, soundness, health, or future performance.
Buyer has conducted a pre-purchase veterinary examination by Dr. Sarah Renner, Equine Performance Center on July 19, 2025, which returned satisfactory results, and Buyer accepts the horse based on those findings.
Seller agrees to cooperate with Buyer in transferring USEF registration and any applicable breed registry records into Buyer’s name following completion of this sale. Note: This horse’s USEF results have been manually reviewed by Haltered due to historical data contamination from another horse with the same name.
Risk of loss, injury, illness, or death of the horse passes to Buyer upon the Transfer of Ownership Date identified in Section 3, or upon physical delivery of the horse to Buyer or Buyer’s agent, whichever occurs first.
Buyer is solely responsible for obtaining any mortality, major medical, or liability insurance on the horse following transfer of risk. Seller bears no responsibility for loss after the transfer date.
Haltered is not a party to this sale. Haltered operates as a marketplace platform and payment processor only. The Purchase Price includes a 10% listing commission, split equally between the listing barn (5%) and Haltered (5%). The Buyer pays the Purchase Price only — there are no additional fees or commissions charged to the Buyer. All horse transactions settle by ACH bank transfer; credit cards are available for PPE, insurance, and hauling but not for the purchase or lease of a horse. Haltered retains chargeback liability and pursues contractual recovery from involved parties as needed.
Trainers acted as agents only. Taylor Bowman (Twisted Tree Farm) negotiated this transaction as agent for the Seller. David Ramos (Camelback Equestrian) submitted the offer as agent for the Buyer. Neither trainer is a party to this contract, neither is a signatory, and neither bears any obligation under it. All representations, warranties, and obligations are solely between Seller (Brian Hackathorn, on behalf of Alexa Hackathorn) and Buyer (Sarah Thompson, on behalf of Emma Thompson).
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
This Bill of Sale constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the sale of the horse described herein and supersedes all prior negotiations, representations, or agreements, whether written or oral.
This agreement may not be amended or modified except by a written instrument signed by both Seller and Buyer.
If any provision of this agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
By signing below, each party acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this Bill of Sale. Either party may sign first; the contract becomes binding only when both signatures are recorded.
